Terms and Conditions

English Language Learning for Indigenous Children (ELLIC) is an initiative of, and funded by, the Australian Government Department of Education.

ESA would like to work with you to create the best possible experience for the educators

and children at your preschool or primary school.

To be involved in the ELLIC Program your school needs to agree to the following things:

    1. agree to Education Services Australia (ESA) monitoring your use of the ELLIC apps through data analytics;
    2. agree to participate in training activities provided by ESA including having at least one educator attend an online introductory webinar as well as reviewing the accompanying educator support materials and other training and professional learning activities and resources as they are developed;
    3. use the apps in your preschool or primary school room as part of general program activities;
    4. download and print the information brochure for parents/guardians and distribute it to the families;
    5. resolve any internal IT issues with your own IT department or internet provider;
    6. notify the ELLIC Helpdesk of any events or issues that may impact your capacity to provide feedback on the development of the program, including changes to participating educators or preschool and primary school contact details;
    7. notify ESA, in writing, if you wish to withdraw your preschool or primary school from ELLIC;
    8. comply with all privacy obligations of your preschool or primary school and ELLIC;

ESA will:

    1. provide your school with $1300 to purchase two compatible tablet devices of your choice;
    2. provide your preschool or primary school with access to two ELLIC apps;
    3. provide teaching and learning materials, including lesson plans and a welcome kit;
    4. support implementation through professional learning opportunities;
    5. collect data on usage of the ELLIC apps on behalf of the Australian Government, Department of Education;
    6. ensure data collected through the ELLIC apps remains secure and private;
    7. use collected data to determine requirements for any future ELLIC app enhancements, and to assist with targeting support for preschools and primary schools; and
    8. provide an ELLIC helpdesk to assist with any ELLIC app-related and implementation queries.
